WWF Wrestling Challenge – March 25th, 1990

March 25, 1990

From the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA

Your hosts are Tony Schiavone and Gorilla Monsoon

In action this week are Brutus Beefcake, Mr. Perfect, Dino Bravo, and Jake Roberts. Plus, an interview with Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire and more!

Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake vs. Steve Vega

Beefcake is shown in an insert promo calling out Mr. Perfect as he promises to put him in the sleeper at WrestleMania VI. Beefcake suplexes Vega and follows with a slam then stays in control until putting him away with a sleeper (2:06). After the match, Vega gets a haircut.

Thoughts: They are pushing Beefcake and his match against Perfect at WrestleMania with Perfect’s undefeated streak on the line.

WWF Special Report with Lord Alfred Hayes. This was the comments from Hogan and Warrior we heard on “Superstars of Wrestling.”

Dino Bravo w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Ricki Ataki

We hear from Jim Duggan in an insert promo as he promises to beat up Bravo at WrestleMania. Bravo beats on Ataki then puts him away with a side slam (1:23).

Thoughts: An easy win for Bravo, who is in a throwaway match against Duggan at WrestleMania.

Mr. Perfect w/ The Genius vs. Dale Wolfe

After introducing Perfect, The Genius proclaimed that Beefcake will be going down at WrestleMania. Wolfe misses an attack in the corner and hurts his knee as we hear Perfect in an insert promo calling out Beefcake before the Perfect Plex gets the win (1:35).

Thoughts: More hype for the Beefcake vs. Perfect match at WrestleMania VI

Gene Okerlund welcomes Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire to the interview platform. Dusty talks about the first-ever mixed tag match at WrestleMania as Sapphire is dancing and clapping. Dusty tells Randy Savage & Queen Sherri will feel the rest of the common people. More dancing from Dusty & Sapphire after it ends. A goofy promo that featured a lot of dancing.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Darryl Nickel

Jake beats on Nickel as we hear from Ted DiBiase in an insert promo telling Jake he is going to be in the biggest fight of his life. Jake now signals for the DDT and plays up to the crowd before hitting it for the win (1:41).

Thoughts: Good promo from DiBiase but his feud with Jake is ready to end. Its been going on long enough. The seeds for this were planted at WrestleMania V.

WrestleMania VI Report with Gene Okerlund.

Akeem w/ Slick vs. Nito Gomez

Akeem beats on Gomez as we hear from Slick and himself as they promise to take care of Bossman at WrestleMania then Akeem hits a splash for the win (1:05).

Thoughts: An easy win for Akeem as he is feuding with his former partner.

Next week in action areĀ  The Rockers, Barbarian, Jim Duggan, and Ted DiBiase.

Final Thoughts: Nothing but WrestleMania VI hype on this show which will continue into next week as the PPV is just one week away.
