Hi Scott,

So, AJ Styles spends the better part of two months convincing Roman Reigns that he is not in cahoots with Gallows and Anderson. He fails to beat Reigns for the title and when Cena returns, THEN he swerves us all and turns heel.

My question is simply this. Why didn’t he do this when he was feuding with Reigns? After all, Roman has the title, not Cena. What do they expect to gain out of beating up Cena. Am I over-thinking this?

Because he couldn’t beat Reigns and he’s an asshole, so he’s gonna take out his frustrations on Cena instead, who holds a title far more important than the WWE title: The Being John Cena Title. Plan A didn’t work, go with Plan B. Plus they desperately need top heels to balance out all the babyfaces. And we’re likely getting a fucking awesome Cena v. Styles match at MiTB. I don’t see the downside, frankly.
